2014-2015 Maker Culture Action Research Project
The world of modern technology has made it easier than ever for individuals to create and distribute products from ideas. For education and educators, this capacity to make things, empowers both creative and critical thinking abilities. Maker culture highlights the importance of learning-through-doing and encourages a participatory environment as well as authentic learning. This encourages student engagement. Importantly, maker spaces are generally social spaces and as such students and teachers also learn through sharing knowledge through community interaction.
